Corellian Conflict Strategy - Initial Builds Rebel (Part 2)

It's time to look at the Rebel ships that you're either unlikely to add - and thus need a firm spot in your list from the beginning - or that if you would add them it would by necessity be when you are in a significant lead in resources.  Not something to count on, in other words.

Best First Upgrades:

I debated the first ship on this list - whether it really belonged in Part I.  Small base, but the most expensive small base ship in the game.

MC30c Frigate:

General Upgrades:
Ordnance Experts - Makes what is great about the ship that much better.
H-9 Turbolasers - Lets you hunt transports with impunity.

Defensive Upgrades:
Admonition / Foresight - Key titles for keeping your ship alive and unscarred in the initial round and future rounds.
Advanced Projectors - Practically force your opponents to invest heavily in XI7s to the exclusion of any other offensive turbolaser slot.

Assassin Upgrades:
Scout MC30c w/ Turbolaser Reroute Circuits - Long range damage from a much more robust platform than a CR90.
Expanded Launchers - Pricey, but double arcs just became super deadly.

Assault Frigate MkII:

General Upgrades:
AFII-B & Expanded Hanger - Cheapest way to activate 4 squadrons at a time... except for the Pelta.
AFII-B & Boosted Comms - Less useful now with Relay, but Rebels don't get it as well as Imperials do.

Assault Upgrades:
Dual Turbolaser Turrets - One of the best bangs for your buck in terms of damage.
Veteran Gunners - Another great price point for a ship that wants to dual-arc enemy ships.
Enhanced Armaments - Ackbar fleet only.
AFII-A & Spinal Armaments - A thought if you've got the points.

Defensive Upgrades:
Electronic Countermeasures - Force the opponent to chose hard on Intel Officer in future rounds.
Advanced Projectors - Same, but XI7s.

Assassin Upgrades:
Paragon - Dual Arc all day.

MC80 Liberty-Class:

General Upgrades:
Mon Karren - Oh god this may be the best single upgrade for any ship in the game, including Demolisher.  Ship goes from "good" to "murder beast" in one title.

Assault Upgrades:
MC80-BC Leading Shots - Improve the damage from your shots.
MC80-SC SW7 Ions - Also improve the damage of your shots.

Defensive Upgrades:
Endevour - Not a lot of love for this cheap title, but a contain in a world with Damage Control Officers is nothing to sneer at.

Assassin Upgrades:
Heavy Turbolaser Turrets - It's kinda like Mon Karren's baby brother for hunting other whales.
XI-7 Turoblasers - Like Heavies, but for hunting MC30s specifically.

MC80 Home One-Class:

General Upgrades:
Home One - All the joy of H9s without using up those turbolaser slots.  Enjoy.

Assault Upgrades:
Leading Shots - Again, for damage improvement.

Defensive Upgrades:
Defiance - Maybe the best "offensive" defensive upgrade in the game.
Electronic Countermeasures - Protect that Brace in a world of H9s.
Advanced Projectors - Not that many people will have XI7s on Round 1.

Assassin Upgrades:
Independence - Some people still get surprised by Speed 4 B-Wings.

    1. never thought about putting H-9s on one of those, usually favored the XI-7. I'll have to try that sometime

    2. Do you mean the MC30cs? They, specifically the Torpedo variant, seems made for the H9 turbos.

    3. yeah. I havn't gotten as many games in since the flotillas came out so that's probably part of it. just been using the XI-7s to make sure those attacks could punch though really nice on a double arch

  3. What about Engine Techs as a (kind of) defensive upgrade on the liberty. Arc dodging is so necessary for that ship!
